WHAT IT ISWhat Does the Gorilla Do?
The Gorilla Overlord is a special companion progression system introduced around the late Season 2 stage. After its rescue/recovery sequence, you develop it separately from heroes. Its Specialized Training improves combat attributes, its Bond and Promotion systems open further progression, and its own combat skills make it increasingly valuable once deployed.
Unlike Hero EXP and ordinary hero shards, Gorilla progression uses dedicated Overlord resources. Some training bonuses benefit your broader combat roster even before the Gorilla is fully deployable.
UNLOCK & DEPLOYPath to Your Squad
1
Rescue & recover it.Complete the Overlord rescue sequence when it opens for your server.
2
Train all 3 tracks to Level 50.Joint Attack, Defense Support and Survival Challenge all matter.
3
Advance Bond.Use Bond Badges as the next Bond gates become available.
4
Train all 3 tracks toward Level 100.Do not leave one branch far behind just to chase a single stat.
5
Reach Rookie Partner I.This is the important early deployment milestone that lets you assign the Gorilla to a normal squad.
RESOURCESWhat to Save
- Training Guidebooks — used throughout Specialized Training. The Tactical Institute produces Guidebooks, and higher building levels improve production.
- Training Certificates — a major training bottleneck. Avoid wasting them on unfocused progression.
- Bond Badges — used to move through Bond Rating gates.
- Overlord Skill Badges / Skill resources — save these for the highest-impact skills rather than leveling everything evenly.
- Gorilla / Overlord shards — used for Promotion progression; spend toward useful breakpoints.
Common published estimates for reaching the early deployment stage are roughly 1,800 Training Certificates, 300,000 Training Guidebooks and 24 Bond Badges. Treat these as planning numbers and verify costs in your current game client.
HOW TO MAKE IT STRONGFEAR Upgrade Strategy
- Get deployable first. Balanced training and Bond progression come before luxury upgrades.
- Keep the Tactical Institute producing. Guidebook production is long-term fuel for Overlord training.
- Prioritize skills instead of spreading medals. Put scarce skill resources into the skills that affect combat most.
- Use battle reports. If Gorilla dies too quickly, move survivability/Armor ahead of extra offense.
- Promote at meaningful breakpoints. Do not automatically burn universal resources for tiny bar movement.
- Deploy it with your strongest squad first. Once Rookie Partner I is reached, your main combat squad is normally the best first home unless a particular mode calls for another setup.
SKILLSSkill Priority
#1 DEFAULTBrutal Roar
High-priority combat skill. This is the usual first focus when spending limited Overlord skill resources because of its overall battle impact.
#2 DEFAULTOverlord's Armor
Improves Gorilla survivability. If your battle reports show the Gorilla dying too early, move this to your #1 priority until it can stay in the fight.
#3 DEFAULTFurious Hunt
Offensive skill that becomes more valuable after the Gorilla has enough durability to survive and contribute consistently.
#4 DEFAULTRiot Shot
The Gorilla's regular attack/early combat skill. Useful, but generally a lower priority for scarce skill resources than the core skills above.
UNLOCKExpert Overlord
A later unlock associated with Overlord progression. Public guides describe it as an unlock rather than a skill that needs repeated leveling, so do not reserve upgrade resources for it the same way as the four active upgrade priorities above.
TRAININGThe 3 Training Tracks
Joint Attack strengthens offensive capability.
Defense Support improves defensive capability.
Survival Challenge strengthens survivability/HP-oriented performance.
Important: progression gates require all three tracks. Before deployment, keeping them near the same milestone is more important than maxing one favorite branch.
QUICK PLANBest Simple Progression Plan
Rescue → unlock training → keep Joint Attack / Defense Support / Survival Challenge balanced → advance Bond whenever its gate opens → push all three toward 100 → reach Rookie Partner I → deploy in your main squad → prioritize Brutal Roar and Armor → use battle reports to decide whether your next resources should go toward survival or offense → continue Promotion and higher training milestones.
